1. Describe the physiology of the clotting cascade

2. Discuss the potential dangers of clotting in the presence of a vascular access device

3. Review current strategies for the prevention of catheter related thrombosis (CRT)

4. Identify novel technologies to assist in the prevention of reduced patency, occlusion and venous thromboembolism (VTE)
